| 1. A pharmaceutical preparation for inhibiting myostatin, comprising a myostatin inhibitor that binds to myostatin in a manner that inhibits binding of an ALK7 receptor to myostatin, which preparation is substantially free of pyrogenic materials so as to be suitable for administration to a mammal, wherein the myostatin inhibitor is a fusion protein comprising i) a ligand binding domain of an ALK7 receptor which binds selectively to myostatin relative to BMP3 and competes with the binding of an ALK7 receptor and ii) an immunoglobulin Fc domain. |
