| 7. A method for coating a surface of a magnesium component comprising the steps of:
providing a magnesium component with a surface;
inspecting the magnesium component for suitability for cold spraying;
preparing the surface of the magnesium component; and
applying a coating onto the surface of the magnesium component by cold spraying so as to substantially cover the surface of
the magnesium component with the coating, the coating comprising a laminate including a layer of aluminum over the magnesium
component and an outer layer of titanium over the layer of aluminum.
