| 1. A method of treating domestic wastewater comprising directing the domestic wastewater into a domestic wastewater treatment system and treating at least a portion of the domestic wastewater by contacting the wastewater with ash, and wherein the ash removes pollutants from the domestic wastewater; and wherein directing the wastewater into a wastewater treatment system includes directing the domestic wastewater into a septic system and treating the wastewater in the septic system and thereafter directing the wastewater through a polishing unit including the ash and contacting the wastewater with the ash. |
