| 1. A driving device which drives a display panel according to pixel data derived from an input image signal, the display panel
including pixel cells serving as pixels, positioned in a plurality of display lines,
wherein said plurality of display lines are divided into a plurality of display line groups, each group including a plurality
of neighboring display lines,
wherein said driving device comprises a light emission driving circuit which causes the pixel cells in each of said neighboring
display lines in the respective display line groups to emit light at different brightness levels based on weighting values
assigned to said plurality of display lines, and
wherein said weighting values are assigned to said plurality of display lines such that bias in brightness differences between
said pixel cells positioned in neighboring display lines is within a prescribed range for all neighboring display lines in
said display panel,
the driving device for a display panel further comprising weighting alteration means which alters, at each of prescribed periods,
assignment of said weighting values to the display lines in said display line group.
