1. An apparatus comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the apparatus to:
determine a first identifier associated with a second device in communication with the apparatus;
compare the first identifier with a list indicating testing information associated with a plurality of manufacturers; and
cause pairing, based on the comparison, of a remote control and the second device.
