1. A radar comprising:
a feed horn antenna for transmitting and receiving radar signals;
a signal generator for generating radar signals for transmission by the feed horn antenna;
a parabolic reflector for (i) reflecting antenna-transmitted signals to a splash plate used to direct the signals outside of the radar and (ii) reflecting return signals towards the antenna,
wherein the feed horn antenna, signal generator, and parabolic reflector are stationary relative to each other and the feed horn antenna is part of a waveguide assembly, wherein the waveguide assembly comprises:
a first component for (1) receiving a first received return signal with a first polarization direction and (2) transmitting a signal with the first polarization direction; and
a second component for (1) receiving a second received return signal with a second polarization direction that is orthogonal to the first polarization direction and (2) transmitting a signal with the second polarization direction,
wherein the waveguide assembly comprises (1) a magic T waveguide junction with the first and second components connecting to first and second arms of the magic T waveguide junction and (2) first and second circulators (i) that are used to connect the arms of the magic T waveguide junction to the first and second components and (ii) that connect to first and second paths to an analog to digital converter for capturing data related to the received return signals.
