1. A composition comprising:
(A) metal oxide particles or a metal hydroxide particle; and
(B) a polyorganosiloxane selected from an asymmetrically substituted polyorganosiloxane of the formula (IIIb):
R4-{-L[SiR2O]p—SiR2}m-L-R4*  (IIIb)
where:
m is 1 to 7 and p is 1 to 9;
R is selected from monovalent C1 to C22-alkyl, a C2-C22-alkenyl, C6-C22-cycloalkenyl, C7-C22-bicycloalkenyl, C6-C22-alkenylarylalkyl; a group -L-R4; and R4;
R4 and R4* are each independently selected from C1 to C22-alkyl; a C2-C22-alkenyl; C6-C22-cycloalkenyl; C7-C22-bicycloalkenyl; C6-C22-alkenylarylalkyl; (R1O)xR13-xSi—, wherein x is 1-3, R1 is a monovalent C1-C22 alkyl; an ionic group derived from esters of carboxylic acids, a S-acid, or a P-acid selected from R9—C(O)—O—, (R9—O)2—P(O)—O—, (R9—O)2—P(O)—, (R9—O)2—P—O—, —NHR9—CH2—COOH, —NHR9—CH2—O—S(O)2(OH), —S—S(O)2(OH)2, where R9 is hydrogen, a C1-C8 alkyl, a C2-C8 alkenyl, or Me3Si; C6-C22-cycloalkyl; C6-C12-cyclothioalkyl; C7-C22-bicycloalkyl; C6-C22-aryl; C5-C12-hetero-N, —O, —S-aryl; C8-C22-polycyclic aryl; C7-C22-alkylaryl; C7-C22-arylalkyl; C8-C22-arylalkylenearylalkyl; R6xR13-xSi— where x of R6xR13-xSi— is 1-3, R1 of R6xR13-xSi— is a C1-C22 alkyl, and R6 is C6-C10-aryl, C7-C12-arylalkyl, C6-C12-cycloalkyl, C7-C16-bicycloalkyl, epoxy C3-C12-epoxy alkyl, C6-C12-cycloalkyl, epoxy C7-C16-bicycloalkyl, C6-C12-thiocycloalkyl, or C5-C12-hetero-N, —O, —S-aryl;
L is independently selected from a single bond and a C1 to C12-alkylene group, which can be interrupted by one or more —O—, or —NR9—C(O)—, and/or —NR9—, urethane —OC(O)NR9—, urea —NR9HC(O)NR9—, moieties, and substituted by one or more OH groups, bonded via a carbon bond to the silicon atom of the siloxy unit, where R9 in L selected from a C1-C8 alkyl, a C2-C8 alkenyl, or Me3Si; and
where R4 and R4* are different from each other.
