1. A filter plate comprising:
two membranes, each of the membranes being attached on opposite sides of a rigid and planar supporting plate formed from bonding of two essentially identical half plates, the membranes forming a membrane area on each of the half plates, wherein each of said half plates comprises at least one exterior membrane-covered flow area and at least one perpendicular fluid-connecting perforation that connects the exterior membrane-covered flow area to one or more flow channels, the exterior membrane-covered flow area on one of the half plates is independent of the exterior membrane-covered flow area of the other one of the half plates;
and wherein each of the two attached membranes is fluid tight sealed to a perimeter of one of the exterior membrane-covered flow areas formed on the supporting plate to define an integrated drainage grid provided with protrusions from the supporting plate that support the attached membrane, the integrated drainage grid further including a plurality of drainage grooves between the protrusions that lead a first liquid that enters the filter plate by permeating the attached membrane to the perpendicular fluid-connecting perforations that further leads the first liquid into the flow channels in the filter-plate, the flow channels subsequently leading the first liquid to at least one perpendicular exit opening outside the membrane area that includes the two attached membranes,
and wherein the plurality of drainage grooves are interconnected such that the first fluid can flow along multiple paths within the integrated drainage grid after permeating the attached membrane.
