1. A sensor system for a drug delivery device, the sensor system comprising:
an encoder component comprising first regions and second regions; and
a sensor arrangement comprising a first sensor and a second sensor,
wherein the sensor arrangement is configured to measure a relative movement between the encoder component and the sensor arrangement via sensor signals generated by the first sensor and the second sensor in response to the relative movement,
wherein each of the first sensor and the second sensor is configured to detect a presence of either one of the first region and the second region in a detection region of the respective sensor and a transition from a first region to a second region,
wherein the first regions and the second regions are alternatingly disposed on the encoder component along a direction of the relative movement, and
wherein the sensor arrangement and the first and second regions of the encoder component are arranged such that the sensor system is configured to produce an output characteristic for a Gray code comprising a plurality of bits during the relative movement between the encoder component and the sensor arrangement,
wherein the sensor arrangement is integrated into a user interface system which is manipulatable by a user for at least one of a dose setting operation and a dose delivery operation,
wherein the user interface system comprises at least one of an injection button and a dose setting knob, and
wherein the dose setting knob is operatively coupled to a dose dial member, the dose dial member being configured to be moved during the dose setting operation.
