1. A method of modulating a metabolic marker or a nonalcoholic fatty liver disease marker in a subject in need thereof or of ameliorating a metabolic disorder or nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an active agent selected from the following structure:
