1. A subwoofer comprising:
at least one processor;
at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium; and
program instructions stored on the at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium that are executable by the at least one processor such that the subwoofer is configured to:
form a synchrony group with a first playback device such that the subwoofer and the first playback device are configured to play back media content in synchrony;
output first sound from one or more speaker components of the subwoofer;
based on (i) the first sound outputted by the subwoofer and (ii) second sound outputted by the first playback device, determine a first updated crossover frequency for the subwoofer;
update one or more configuration settings of the subwoofer based on the first updated crossover frequency for the subwoofer;
determine that a second playback device has joined the synchrony group;
based on (i) third sound outputted by the subwoofer, (ii) fourth sound outputted by the first playback device, and (iii) fifth sound outputted by the second playback device, determine a second updated crossover frequency for the subwoofer; and
update the one or more configuration settings of the subwoofer based on the second updated crossover frequency for the subwoofer.
