1. A method for updating a theme element of a presentation comprising a master slide and one or more non-master slides, the method comprising:
causing, by a processing device, display of a user interface on a client computer of a user, the user interface comprising a first non-master slide of the one or more non-master slides of the presentation and a first option to edit an element of the first non-master slide;
receiving, by the processing device, a user selection of the first option to edit the element of the first non-master slide, wherein the user selection of the first option comprises a request to modify the element of the first non-master slide;
causing the element of the first non-master slide to be modified based on the user selection of the first option;
receiving, by the processing device, a user selection of a second option in the user interface to apply the modification to the element of the first non-master slide to a theme of the presentation;
in response to receiving the user selection of the second option to apply the modification to the element of the first non-master slide to the theme of the presentation, causing the theme element corresponding to the element of the first non-master slide to be updated based on the modification of the element of the first non-master slide; and
causing the modification of the element of the first non-master slide to be automatically propagated to elements of other slides of the presentation that are associated with the theme.
