10. A method for increasing cooling performance in a cooling pond system, comprising:
supplying a brine feed stream to a cooling pond system, the cooling pond system including a plurality of cooling ponds in fluid communication; and
forming one or more submerged dams within each of the cooling ponds to increase turbulence or vertical mixing within the cooling pond system, wherein each of the one or more submerged dams are formed entirely below a pond surface.
