| 1. A system, comprising:
a processing unit;
a memory coupled to the processing unit, the memory comprising:
a color management component configured to perform color management operations upon color image data;
an image acquisition interface in an image acquisition control data structure, the image acquisition interface configured
to receive a first call from an image-processing application to set image acquisition control parameters, the image acquisition
control parameters including a color management parameter indicating whether a color management is desired, and receive a
second call from a device driver of an image-acquisition device; and
a color management application programming interface configured to invoke the color management component to act upon image
data when the color management parameter is set to indicate that the color management is desired to be performed, and wherein
the color management application programming interface is configured to facilitate communications between a device driver
of an image-capturing device and the color management component sufficient to allow the device driver to invoke color management
operations by the color management component upon color image data according to the color management parameter.
