| 1. A method of detecting one or more nucleic acids of interest, which method comprises:
(a) providing a sample comprising or suspected of comprising one or more nucleic acids of interest;
(b) capturing the one or more nucleic acids of interest on a first solid support;
(c) hybridizing one or more first amplification multimers to each of the one or more nucleic acids of interest;
(d) hybridizing one or more amplification oligomers to the one or more first amplification multimers of step (c);
(e) transferring the one or more amplification oligomers that hybridized in step (d) to a second solid support;
(f) hybridizing one or more second amplification multimers to the one or more amplification oligomers captured on the second
solid support;
(g) hybridizing one or more label probes to the one or more second amplification multimers of step (f); and,
(h) detecting the one or more label probes.
