| 1. A method for performing a coupling operation between a quantum device and a qubit, wherein the quantum device is coupled
to a superconducting bus, the method comprising:
placing a controllable coupling mechanism into a coupled state, thereby coupling said quantum device and said qubit to each
other;
tuning the quantum device or the qubit for a first period of time; and
placing the controllable coupling mechanism into an uncoupled state, thereby decoupling said quantum device and said qubit
from each other.
