| 1. A method of searching for a gap in a drawing, including:
sweeping an evaluation line across at least a portion of the drawing;
detecting on the evaluation line an endpoint of a first segment of a plurality of segments associated with a first path, wherein
detecting is performed by a processor;
determining a distance from the endpoint to a point on a second segment of a plurality of segments associated with a second
path;
comparing the distance to a maximum gap distance; and
detecting a gap.
