| 1. A liquid crystal device comprising:
a first substrate;
a second substrate;
a liquid crystal between the first substrate and the second substrate;
a common electrode located at the first-substrate side of the liquid crystal;
an insulating film; and
a pixel electrode located at the first-substrate side of the liquid crystal, the pixel electrode completely overlapping with
the common electrode in plan view and separated from the common electrode by the insulating film, the pixel electrode including:
a first linear pixel segments extending in a first direction, and
a second linear pixel segments extending in a second direction that is different from the first direction, one of the first
linear pixel segments being coupled to one of the second linear pixel segments and forming a chevron shape with the one of
the second linear pixel segments.
