4. An electrode package for attachment to the exterior of a defibrillator, the package comprising
an outer shell, including at least a rigid base;
a portion of the outer shell configured to be opened to remove the electrodes;
two or more defibrillation electrodes sealed inside the electrode package, and
a mechanical element or elements on the exterior of the rigid base of the outer shell and configured to mate with the mechanical element or elements on the housing of a defibrillator to mechanically attach the package to the housing of the defibrillator,
wherein the mechanical element or elements on the housing of the defibrillator comprises elements configured to mate with a reusable defibrillator paddle, and
wherein the mechanical element or elements on the electrode package comprises one or more flexible clips configured so that the electrode package can be attached at the same location as the reusable defibrillator paddle.
