| 1. A receiver for demodulating a received signal, the receiver comprising:
a signal processing unit for processing the received signal by one of multiple processing schemes;
an evaluation value calculation unit for calculating an evaluation value by adaptively assigning different weights to a reception
level of the received signal and a battery life of the receiver according to a type of communication of the received signal,
wherein the type of communication includes at least one of text and voice communication; and
a judgment unit for selecting a processing scheme to be used by the signal processing unit dependent upon the calculated evaluation
value.
