| 1. A shredder for organic material, the shredder comprising:
a material-receiving receptacle with a closed lower end, the receptacle having shredding blades disposed adjacent the lower
end, the receptacle having an open upper end terminating in a rim, the receptacle having at least one handle, a housing having
a motor for driving the blades, wherein the motor is in communication with the blades when the receptacle is placed onto the
housing so that that the motor is capable of driving the blades when turned on by a power switch, a main lid for closing the
upper end of the receptacle to prevent the contents of the receptacle from exiting the receptacle when the blades are in motion,
wherein the receptacle has a discharge chute adjacent the closed end thereof such that shredded material may be removed from
the receptacle without removing the receptacle from the housing or turning the receptacle upside down, wherein the main lid
has a secondary lid disposed therein, where the secondary lid is threaded into the main lid and is removably threaded onto
the main lid.
