| 4. A method, comprising:
mounting a device on a supporting structure;
directing a first type of light from a first light source along a light axis through a beam splitter to illuminate the supporting
structure and the mounted item, the first type of light being direct light;
illuminating the supporting structure and the mounted item with a second type of light from a second light source, the second
type of light being provided symmetrically about the light axis, the second type of light being diffuse light;
disposing a second mirror opposite a first mirror symmetrically about the light axis;
reflecting higher angle diffuse light from the second light source onto the item and the supporting structure; and
capturing an image of light directed by the beam splitter, the directed light being light reflected by the mounted item and
the supporting structure back along the light axis.
