| 1. A liquid crystal composition having a negative dielectric anisotropy comprising three components, wherein the first component
is at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by formulas (1-1) to (1-4), the second component
is at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by Formulas (2-a) to (2-c), and the third component
is at least one compound selected from the group of compounds represented by Formula (3):
wherein R1, R3 and R5 are each independently alkyl having 1 to 12 carbons or alkenyl having 2 to 12 carbons; R2 and R4 are each independently alkyl having 1 to 12 carbons, alkenyl having 2 to 12 carbons or alkoxy having 1 to 12 carbons; R6 is independently alkyl having 1 to 12 carbons, alkoxy having 1 to 12 carbons, alkenyl having 2 to 12 carbons or alkenyl having
2 to 12 carbons, arbitrary hydrogen of which are replaced by fluorine; ring A and ring B are each independently 1,4-cyclohexylene
or 1,4-phenylene; Z1, Z2, Z3 and Z4 are each independently a single bond, —C2H4— or —CH2O—; and X5, X6, X7, X8, X9 and X10 are each independently fluorine or chlorine, provided that X5 and X6 are not simultaneously chlorine, X7 and X8 are not simultaneously chlorine, and X9 and X10 are not simultaneously chlorine.
