| 5. A method of preparing a mammalian telophase II oocyte for nuclear transfer, wherein the oocyte has a meiotic spindle apparatus,
comprising the steps of:
a. exposing the oocyte to ethanol, ionophore, and/or to electrical stimulation, to thereby obtain an activated oocyte, and
b. subjecting the oocyte to at least one compound that destabilizes the meiotic spindle apparatus, to thereby enucleate the
oocyte, wherein the oocyte is exposed to the compound until the second polar body is extruded.
