| 1. A component formed by pressureless sintering and then hot isostatic pressing of a green body that is comprised of a powder consisting of boron oxide coated boron carbide particles, a quantity of additional impurities and no sintering additives, said component excluding boron oxide and consisting essentially of sintered boron carbide and said quantity of additional impurities, and said component having a relative density of at least 99%. |
