1. A wireless power reception apparatus, comprising:
a secondary coil configured to receive wireless power from a wireless power transmission apparatus via a magnetic field; and
a controller configured to:
communicate control information for controlling power supplied by the wireless power transmission apparatus, the control information indicating a requested power of the wireless power reception apparatus,
measure a plurality of measured power values indicative of respective amounts of power that the wireless power reception apparatus receives from the wireless power transmission apparatus in response to the control information, and
detect that a foreign object has been placed in the magnetic field based on a determination that at least two consecutive measured power values indicate a deviation from the requested power.
