1. A system for acquiring images of an exterior of a vehicle traveling on a path between a first predefined location and a second predefined location, comprising:
a first camera support structure having a plurality of first side view cameras affixed thereto, each of the plurality of first side view cameras configured for acquiring image data of the vehicle as the vehicle travels on the path between the first predefined location and the second predefined location, the plurality of first side view cameras being spaced from each other on the first camera support structure such that the plurality of first side view cameras are arranged at various heights relative to the vehicle, wherein the plurality of first side view cameras includes at least four first side view cameras, wherein at least one of the first side view cameras is positioned at an angle relative to other ones of the plurality of first side view cameras for acquiring a front-angle image of the vehicle;
a second camera support structure having a plurality of second side view cameras affixed thereto, each of the plurality of second side view cameras configured for acquiring image data of the vehicle as the vehicle travels on the path between the first predefined location and the second predefined location, the second camera support structure being located opposite the first camera support structure relative to the path on which the vehicle to be imaged is traveling, the plurality of second side view cameras being spaced from each other on the second camera support structure such that the plurality of second side view cameras are arranged at various heights relative to the vehicle, wherein the plurality of second side view cameras includes at least four second side view cameras, wherein at least one of the second side view cameras is positioned at an angle relative to other ones of the plurality of second side view cameras for acquiring a rear-angle image of the vehicle;
at least one lower camera positioned along the path of the vehicle for capturing images underneath the vehicle;
a plurality of sensors adapted to detect a current position of the vehicle between the first predefined location and the second predefined location, wherein at least one of the cameras from the plurality of first and second side view cameras and the at least one lower camera are responsive to the current position of the vehicle detected by the sensors for acquiring the image data of the vehicle;
an image processor communicatively coupled to the plurality of first and second side view cameras and the at least one lower camera; and
a memory storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the image processor, configure the image processor to receive the acquired image data from the plurality of first and second side view cameras and the at least one lower camera.
