1. A wood treatment device comprising:
a container assembly including an elongate container body with opposite container ends, wherein the container body defines an internal expanse for holding a wood-treatment agent, and the container assembly has a maximum cross-section dimension and is configured to release the wood-treatment agent at a predetermined rate when the wood treatment device is inserted into a wood bore hole; and
an adapter extending away from the container body axially from one of the container ends, wherein the adapter includes longitudinally extending screw threads forming an external surface of the adapter, at least one flange extending continuously around the adapter distal from the screw threads and the container body, and a distal end distal of the at least one flange, and at least a portion of the screw threads, the at least one flange, and the distal end each have a respective maximum cross-section dimension that is greater than the maximum cross-section dimension of the container assembly.
