1. A method for treating obesity and overweight comprising the administration of an effective amount of one or more, synthetic
or natural alkylfurans, of general formula (I):
 wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 represent independently of each other a radical selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a C1-C35 alkyl, a C1-C35 alkenyl, or a C1-C35 alkynyl, to an obese or overweight patient.
