| 1. An image forming medium, comprising
a substrate; and
an imaging layer coated on or impregnated into said substrate, wherein the imaging layer comprises:
a photoacid generator, and
an acid-base indicator,
wherein the photoacid generator and the acid-base indicator are selected so that irradiation of the imaging layer causes said
photoacid generator to generate an acid that reacts with the acid-base indicator to produce a permanent image.
