| 1. A printing apparatus comprising:
a conveying mechanism to convey a print medium along a predetermined conveying path;
a printing mechanism to perform printing on the print medium by ejecting ink to the print medium;
an applying member which applies a liquid to the print medium conveyed along the convey path, the applying member having an
applying surface;
a holding member that has an abutting portion which abuts against the applying surface to form a liquid holding space in which
the liquid is held, the abutting portion being annularly formed of a single member;
a supply port which is disposed near one end of the holding member in a longitudinal direction thereof, to supply the liquid
to the holding member; and
a collecting port which is disposed near the other end of the holding member in a longitudinal direction thereof, to collect
the liquid from the holding member,
wherein the printing mechanism comprises an ink jet print head that carries out printing by ejecting the ink to the print
medium.
