| 1. A color processing method comprising the steps of:
acquiring control information for limiting an amount of a colorant, and a correspondence between device color data and a colorimetry
value;
setting a total area coverage limiting process based on the control information for limiting the amount of the colorant;
performing a conversion process, based on the total area coverage limiting process and the correspondence between the device
color data and the colorimetry value, on a sampling value;
setting a color gamut by using the sampling value subjected to the conversion process;
generating inverse conversion data for converting device independent data into the device color data, by using the total area
coverage limiting process and the correspondence between the device color data and the colorimetry value;
mapping an input color data in the set color gamut, and converting the mapped color data into the device color data by using
the generated inverse conversion data; and
generating forward conversion data for converting the device color data into the device independent data by using the correspondence
between the device color data and the colorimetry value, without using the control information.
