1. A method for producing a stable lentiviral packaging cell comprising transfecting a cell with a retroviral vector comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding lentiviral Gag-Pol, wherein the retroviral vector is of different viral origin than a lentivirus, and wherein the lentiviral packaging cell stably produces lentiviral Gag-Pol continuously for at least 3 months.
