| 1. A tool for splitting wood, the tool having a length and comprising:
a penetration portion having a penetrating end and configured for penetration into a piece of wood, the penetration portion
including two penetration surfaces diverging from each other at an inclusive angle; and
a wedge portion including two wedge surfaces generally contiguous with the diverging penetration surfaces and diverging from
each other at an inclusive angle greater than the inclusive angle of the diverging penetration surfaces;
the penetration portion having a length greater than half the length of the tool.
