1. A computing device, comprising:
a wireless communication interface; and
a processor configured to:
establish a connection with a wireless network;
while a network-layer status of the connection is active, monitor attributes of the connection at the wireless communication interface, the attributes including (i) a number of uplink packets transmitted since a most recent downlink packet was received, and (ii) a time period elapsed since the most recent downlink packet was received;
determine that the attributes meet recovery criteria indicative of a network-layer interruption in the wireless network; and
in response to the determination, control the wireless communication interface to initiate a recovery action to resolve the network-layer interruption.
