| 1. An image forming apparatus comprising:
photosensitive drums on which an image is formed;
a move member which moves while contacting or separating from the surfaces of the photosensitive drums;
transfer members which are provided at the positions opposite to the photosensitive drums, moved to the move member to make
the move member contact with the photosensitive drums, and transfers the images on the photosensitive drum to the move member;
and
a transfer member drive unit which has a first mode for all the transfer members contact with the move member, a second mode
for some transfer members contact with the move member and some other transfer members separate from the move member, a third
mode for all the transfer members separate from the move member, and makes the transfer members contact with the move member
by sets the third mode, the second mode and the first mode in sequence.
