| 1. A water heating apparatus comprising:
a device body for heating and producing hot water that is capable of connecting to one or more remote control units for remotely
operating the device body, the device body having an outer casing;
a connection-number counter disposed within the outer casing of the device body for determining the number of remote control
units upon powering-up the device body; and
a display unit disposed within the outer casing of the device body for indicating the number of the connected remote control
units determined by the connection-number counter, wherein
a display of the display unit is visible from the exterior through a window formed in the outer casing.
