1. A color processing method comprising the steps of:
extracting predetermined image regions from an input image;
calculating first to third importance levels for respective extracted image regions, wherein the first importance level relates to an area of the image region to the whole of the input image, the second importance level relates to a position of the image region in the input image, and a third importance level relates to luminance of the image region;
deciding important colors for respective extracted image regions;
determining importance levels for respective extracted image regions from the first to third importance levels, and determining a representative color of the whole input image from the important colors and the importance levels for respective extracted image regions;
setting a correction coefficient from difference between the representative color and a target color; and
applying color correction, which uses the set correction coefficient, to the extracted image regions in the input image.
