| 1. A device comprising:
at least one ultra-small resonant structure constructed and adapted to emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in response to
excitation by a beam of charged particles passing in proximity to the at least one ultra-small resonant structure; and
at least one waveguide conduit constructed and adapted to capture a portion of the EMR emitted by the at least one ultra-small
resonant structure.
