1. A structure-borne sound sensor unit for an agricultural machine and having modifiable sensing characteristics for various sensor applications, comprising
a signal convertor which converts a mechanical sensor signal into an electrical sensor signal;
preprocessing electronics which are connected with said signal convertor and receive the electrical sensor signal, said preprocessing electronics including a programmable function component, said preprocessing electronics also including a data input receiving configuration data, and a programming interface configuring said function component of said preprocessing electronics based on the configuration data received to modify the sensing characteristics, so that the structure-borne sound sensor unit functions as required for a desired application selected from the various sensor applications without design changes.
