| 1. A transmissive and reflective type LCD comprising:
a first substrate;
a second substrate having an inner surface facing the first substrate;
a liquid crystal layer formed between the first substrate and the second substrate;
a first polarizing plate formed on an outer surface of the first substrate;
a second polarizing plate formed on an outer surface of the second substrate;
a backlight for irradiating incident light onto the first polarizing plate; and
a transflective film arranged between the first polarizing plate and the backlight, the transflective film partially reflecting
and transmitting a first polarization component of the incident light polarized in a first direction and a second polarization
component of the incident light polarized in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction.
