| 1. A method of extracting tacrolimus from a blood sample, comprising contacting the blood sample with a non-ionic detergent hemolytic agent that lyses the cells of said sample and releases tacrolimus protein complexes and a water soluble detergent extraction agent that dissociates tacrolimus from the tacrolimus protein complexes, wherein said hemolytic agent is octylphenoxy polyethoxyethanol and said extraction agent is deoxycholate and wherein said hemolytic agent and said extraction agent do not include sodium dodecyl sulfate, and contacting is done such that lysis and dissociation takes place and tacrolimus is extracted from said sample. |
