1. A method implemented on at least one processor, a memory, and a communication platform enabling connection to a network for detecting liveness, comprising:
receiving an image with visual information of a palm;
identifying a region of interest (ROI) in the image that corresponds to the palm and an initial dimension of the ROI;
obtaining a plurality of decisions, each of which is made individually on whether the ROI represents a corresponding one of a plurality of types of fake palm; and
combining the plurality of decisions to derive a liveness detection decision on whether the palm captured in the image corresponds to a live palm.
