1. A controlled-environment facility resident to controlled-environment facility resident communication management system, comprising:
a controlled-environment facility electronic digital mail center configured to receive and create a digital version of an original mail item received at a first controlled-environment facility;
a controlled-environment facility mail database configured to store digital versions of original mail items received at the first controlled-environment facility;
a controlled-environment facility centralized investigative data aggregation and analysis platform configured to:
identify a sender and/or sending address of the original mail item from the digital version of the original mail item;
query a database using identification of the sender and/or the sending address to determine whether the sender of the original mail item is a resident of a second controlled-environment facility; and
flag the digital version of the original mail item as a controlled-environment facility resident to controlled-environment facility resident communication, in response to a determination that the sender of the original mail item is the resident of the second controlled-environment facility.
