| 1. A water heating system, comprising:
a tank;
a heating element mounted on the tank;
a temperature sensor positioned to sense a temperature of water within the tank; and
logic configured to estimate, based on a current temperature reading from the temperature sensor and at least one previous
temperature reading, an amount of water currently within the tank that is within a redefined temperature range, the logic
further configured to provide an indication of the estimated amount; and
a display device, wherein the logic is configured to provide the indication by causing the display device to display a message
indicative of the estimated amount.
