| 1. A machine readable information recording medium embodied as a recordable optical disc for access by an optical disc drive,
the information recording medium comprising:
a first area in which a video file is recorded,
the video file including a plurality of extents,
the video file including an unrecorded area and a video object,
the unrecorded area being able to store new video data,
the video object being divided into extents included in a plurality of the extents in the first area,
the video object having video object units,
one of the video object units containing video packs, audio packs, and one begin pack,
each of the video packs and the audio packs having a predetermined size, and
said begin pack including recording time information on a corresponding video object unit;
a second area in which a management file is recorded,
the management file including video management information, the video management information having program chain information,
the program chain information containing cell information representing a cell,
the cell referring to a whole or a part of the video object, and
the video file, the management file, and a back up file being stored under a DVD-RTR directory; and
a third area in which file management information is recorded,
the file management information including a File Identifier Descriptor (FID, and a file entry (FE) specifying a location of
the video file,
the file entry (FE) including an allocation descriptor having length information on one of the extents and position information
on the one of extents,
logical blocks and logical sectors being assigned on the information recording medium,
the logical blocks to which logical block numbers are assigned,
the position information on the one of extents specifying one of the logical block numbers, and
the video management information including beginning address of the video object expressed in AV address,
wherein the video management information is read and provided to control recording, playing back, or editing the video file
by an information recording/reproducing apparatus, the video file is accessed according to the video management information.
