| 1. A method of providing an audio prompt to a user comprising information advising the user of the option to use DTMF input
or speech input, the method comprising the steps of:
presenting a first audio indicator to the user of a first selection mode for an available option, wherein the first selection
mode elicits DTMF input or speech input from the user; and
presenting a second audio indicator to the user of a second selection mode for the available option, wherein the second selection
mode elicits DTMF input or speech input from the user, wherein both the first and second indicators are scheduled and formatted
for presentation together prior to detection of a first user input failure, each of the first and second indicators being
audibly distinguishable by at least one audio attribute other than the words used or the mode specified, wherein the at least
one audio attribute attracts user attention to the difference between the first selection mode and the second selection mode,
and wherein the first selection mode elicits a different type of input from the second selection mode, such that if the first
selection mode elicits DTMF input then the second selection mode elicits speech input, and if the first selection mode elicits
speech input then the second selection mode elicits DTMF input.
