| 1. A method of retransmitting coded bits, upon a retransmission request from a receiver, in a transmitter of a CDMA (Code
Division Multiple Access) mobile communication system, which modulates bits encoded at a predetermined code rate in a predetermined
modulation scheme and transmits the modulated bits to the receiver, the method comprising the steps of:
inverting the coded bits to generate inverted bits upon the retransmission request from the receiver, the retransmission request
being odd-numbered for the same data;
modulating the inverted bits in the predetermined modulation scheme; and
transmitting the modulated bits to the receiver.
