| 1. A transflective liquid crystal display device comprising:
a plurality of pixels; and
vertical alignment liquid crystal which is sealed between a first substrate having a first electrode and a second substrate
having a second electrode, wherein
a plurality of pixel regions comprising a reflective region and a transmissive region;
the reflective region comprises a gap adjusting section, on at least one of sides of the first substrate and the second substrate,
which sets a gap defined by a thickness of the liquid crystal layer which controls a phase difference of light incident to
the liquid crystal layer so that the gap is smaller in the reflective region than in the transmissive region, and
each pixel region comprises an alignment controller which divides an alignment direction of the liquid crystal within the
pixel region on at least one of the sides of the first substrate and the second substrate;
wherein each alignment controller has a region extending linearly along a predetermined direction, and the alignment directions
of the liquid crystal are divided into a plurality of directions by each alignment controller in both the reflective regions
and the transmissive regions;
a region, corresponding to an edge at an end of the gap adjusting section, on a substrate side opposite to the gap adjusting
section comprises a linear alignment controller; and
the edge at the end of the gap adjusting section is provided outside a center in a line width direction of the linear alignment
controller, and an inclined surface at the end of the gap adjusting section overlaps a formation region of the linear alignment
controller at a location outward from the center such that the inclined surface does not overlap the center of the alignment
controller.
