| 1. A method for separating particles from a fluid-particle stream, comprising:
rotating a hollow collector;
directing flow of the stream radially outward to an interior surface of the rotating hollow collector; and
thereafter directing flow of the stream radially inward away from the interior surface of the rotating hollow collector while
impacting the rotating collector with particles, such that impacted particles move rotationally about a central axis of the
rotating collector.
